Chemistry

Chemistry is the branch of science that studies the composition, structure, properties, and changes of matter. It explores how substances interact with one another, form new substances, and can be transformed through chemical reactions. Chemistry is often referred to as the “central science” because it connects and overlaps with other scientific disciplines such as physics, biology, environmental science, and materials science. It is divided into several subfields, including organic chemistry (the study of carbon-containing compounds), inorganic chemistry (the study of inorganic compounds), analytical chemistry (the analysis of substances), physical chemistry (the study of the physical properties and behavior of chemicals), and biochemistry (the study of chemical processes within living organisms). Through chemical principles, chemists aim to understand the fundamental laws that govern the behavior of matter, and they apply this knowledge in various applications, from drug development to materials engineering and environmental protection.
